Celery Juice

I first learned about celery juice from a client who was managing her autoimmune disorder and experiencing great results. At the time I thought it sounded interesting but not anything I would do. Several months later I had given up coffee and started drinking tea in the mornings. One day I decided to give it a try since I had a juicer collecting dust on my kitchen counter top. I immediately took a shine to this new routine and have been drinking 16 ounces on an empty stomach every morning for over 6 months.

The Medical Medium

Anthony William, the Medical Medium, has been educating people about the healing properties of celery juice for decades. He explains in his book “Celery Juice: The Most Powerful Medicine of Our Time Healing Millions Worldwide” that it helps fight chronic illness and autoimmune disorders by strengthening the body’s bile.

According to William a “sluggish liver” is caused by chemicals, pollutants, pathogens, and certain foods. Celery contains mineral salts which act as an antiseptic and breakdown the pathogen’s cell membranes. As a result celery juice reduces inflammation, starves pathogens, and destroys neurotoxins. In addition it balances the body’s pH levels making it more alkaline.

My Experience

For me personally I feel much better drinking celery juice everyday. Previously I knew my body was acidic and I was experiencing symptoms of inflammation like shooting pain in my 3rd and 4th toes in the middle of the night. I assumed it was gout since it runs in the family, but after myriad tests everything was ruled out including arthritis, RA, and other diseases, my blood work was perfect. Since drinking celery juice and changing my diet (mostly vegan and gluten-free) I no longer wake up in the middle of the night with aching toes.

Skeptics will say it was a combination of the juicing and my diet, but my rebuttal is that I would not have been able to kick start a new diet regime without the initial discipline of the morning juice. There is something about the routine and/or habit of starting my day off with the juice that makes me feel healthy and vital and want to maintain that throughout the day. Here are the results I can say I feel by having celery juice daily:

  • more energy
  • clearer skin
  • better mental focus
  • less hunger/cravings
  • healthier gut
